This course addresses the fundamentals of modes of communication. It provides a developmental perspective of how communication has evolved verbally and non verbally and provides insights into the changes and challenges that current communication needs present us with. The different generational communication styles are understood and strategies are provided how to bridge the different values and styles of communicationis.

• Active listening skills
• Listening to what is not being sad
• Dealing with barriers to effective communication
• Managing conflict arising in communication
• Adapting to generational differences reflected in Baby Boomers, Generation X and Generation Y and preparing for Generation Z

Expected Outcomes

• Improved personal and interpersonal awareness in communication
• Ability to identify communication differences and apply effective strategies to bridges those differences
• Can be focussed within the dynamics of the organisation to improve communication and team functioning
• Apply skills to improve communication with clients to facilitate better relationships and outcomes
